The 1st Stage of Homepage

Beginning the Creation

I have used Kompozer to create the homepage. The logo is at the top centred just as planned! The navigation buttons are pink and green to stand out eachother and the black background. The width of the navigation area had to be 800 pixels on every page. So each of the navigation buttons had to equally make 800 pixels ( there for being 152 pixels each approx ). I then had to insert an image, this was generally easy and simple to do, it just involed cicking the insert image button then finding a suitable image which was stored on my memory stick, this was so the images could be seen on all computers. Adding colour and writing on the website was just as easy as on Microsoft Word Software, it was simple and easy to change if need be.
Now to add the content!!


As you can see bellow the home page advertises a singing competition. I found that websites like ITV.com and BBC.com also do this to draw people in and to show the range of programmes they have. Alot of people are all about 'getting famous' so having a singing competition, I believed, would attract more people to the programme and Im using the website to help promote it.

Reasons for Content

Through Research I have found most websites use thier homepage to advertise what is on the rest of thier website. To follow a typical convention I decided to do the same. I have created small advertisements using photoshop that have hyperlinks to other parts of the page. For example the advert at the bottom is linked to a bigger more detailed picture on the fashion page!
I have symetrically placed all the blocks of advertisements together so they look like one big block. Again linking with the meaning of the word Fusion.

At the top of the page is another convention most websites use! Its a bright eye catching banner. I have chosen a blue banner which the writing would bounce to catch attention.

What I now need to add is a feature that explains channel Fusion is on Freview and Sky and Sky HD so it will appeal to a larger audience with all types of TV.
